You bring to Applaudo the following competencies:   

  • CPA, Public Accountant, Economist, Finance, Business Administration or related.
  • 5+ years leading accounting and taxes processes and teams.
  • Expertise in multi-entity financial statement consolidation, multi-currency transactions, and intercompany eliminations, ensuring compliance with IFRS and international reporting standards.
  • Strong understanding of local and international tax regulations, transfer pricing, VAT, and corporate tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Proven experience managing external audits, internal controls, and risk assessments, ensuring adherence to global financial and regulatory requirements.
  • Advanced skills in budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and strategic planning, with a focus on automation, efficiency, and process improvements.
  • Proficiency in financial management software (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar) for automation, consolidation, and real-time financial reporting.
  • Ability to assess complex financial structures, identify risks, and implement solutions to enhance financial performance.
  • Strong ability to lead accounting, financial operations and payroll teams, ensuring alignment with business objectives and high-quality execution.
  • Ensures strict adherence to accounting
    calendars, monthly closures, and reporting schedules, maintaining high levels of
    accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ability to present financial data, risk insights, and strategic recommendations to senior executives,
    auditors, and regulatory bodies in Spanish and English.

You will be accountable for the following responsabilities: 

  • Ensure the finance and accounting team meets all scheduled deadlines, completing monthly, quarterly, and annual closures with accuracy and quality.
  • Establish, monitor, and enforce strict financial routines and accounting calendars, ensuring all financial activities occur in a structured and predictable manner.
  • Define and ensure compliance with accounting policies, financial controls, and tax regulations.
  • Lead multi-entity financial consolidation, including multi-currency transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with government tax requirements, including timely filings, declarations, and tax optimization strategies.
  • Prepare, review, and present financial statements and key financial reports in Spanish and English.
  • Stay updated with changes in IFRS, compliance, and tax laws, identifying best practices and implementing new tools to improve financial operations.
  • Oversee and ensure the team follows structured processes for financial operations, including treasury, payroll processing, invoicing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
  • Hold the team accountable for adhering to financial processing schedules, ensuring no delays in reporting, payments, or compliance.
  • Optimize deferred expenses, cost structures, revenue recognition, and profit tracking to enhance financial performance.
  • Ensure smooth cash flow management, overseeing payment cycles and working capital optimization.
  • Develop metrics and executive reports to measure financial efficiency and support decision-making.
  • Implement automation tools and process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure the team proactively prepares for audits by maintaining complete and up-to-date documentation.
  • Lead and manage external audit-related processes, including financial audits, tax audits, and regulatory reviews.
  • Define and execute internal audit plans, ensuring financial and operational controls are effective.
  • Monitor internal controls, ensuring policies and procedures are up to date and delivering expected results.
  • Implement control mechanisms that ensure all financial data is accurate, compliant, and auditable at any given time.
  • Work closely with the CFO to develop financial strategies, optimize fiscal efficiency, and enhance internal controls.
  • Collaborate with Legal and Human Resources to ensure compliance with labor regulations, payroll processing, and financial governance.
  • Support investment decisions by providing financial analysis, tax insights, and recommendations.
  • Assist in company-wide projects, ensuring financial risks and opportunities are properly assessed.
  • Align financial processes with internal stakeholders and external entities (regulators, auditors, tax authorities, and financial institutions).
