ABOUT THIS PROJECT

This project undertook a comprehensive audit of a financial mobile application for one of the largest banks in El Salvador and Honduras. The audit meticulously examined the application’s architecture, code, security measures, user experience (UX), and user interface (UI) design, functionality, and performance. The goal was not just to identify any weaknesses, but to leverage the audit findings to make targeted improvements in all these areas. This holistic approach aimed to ensure the final product delivered a secure, user-friendly, and high-performing experience for the bank’s users.

Our approach

To tackle the project’s challenges, we focused on standardizing processes, implementing best practices, and ensuring seamless continuity without disrupting ongoing operations.

Our task was to ensure a seamless transition while meeting stringent time-to-market expectations set by the client. The Applaudo team took over the complexities of taking control from previous stakeholders, which included different suppliers, without causing disruptions.

 

Our first major challenge was to streamline and standardize the existing processes. This involved implementing best practices that would improve the project’s overall quality and efficiency. We had to maintain continuity in product development and ensure that our interventions did not interfere with daily operations or delay deliverables to the customer. Meeting the client’s tight deadlines required meticulous planning and execution. Despite these challenges, we unified the collection of metrics, which provided enhanced visibility into the product’s quality. This was accomplished through the implementation of optimal methods, leading to improvements across multiple dimensions, including functional, regression, and performance testing. We revamped the code structure for better maintainability and reusability, creating a more robust architecture capable of handling the expected load from the customer. Furthermore, we defined the actors, responsibilities, and processes influencing the development lifecycle, resulting in improved delivery times.

 

Applaudo’s audit revealed several areas for improvement in the mobile application, covering architecture, code, security, UX/UI, performance, and functionality. By implementing best practices and development and testing standards, we significantly enhanced technological processes. We refined the user interface and optimized user experience flows, ensuring better adoption and impact at launch. These efforts not only improved the technological foundation but also ensured a seamless and enhanced experience for the end-users.
